INSPECTION AND CERTIFICATION OUTSIDE OF SWITZERLAND

The inspection of holdings outside of Switzerland is not carried out by Bio Suisse itself but by an accredited inspection body. In order to take the additional Bio Suisse requirements into account, a Bio Suisse Checklist must be completed.
The inspection bodies can enter into a cooperative agreement with Bio Suisse upon request.
Holdings are approved by Bio Suisse on the basis of the documentation issued by the inspection bodies.

Members of the Bio Suisse Label Commission Import carry out regular local retrospective inspections.

SPECIAL CASES

• Directly approved associations in Germany and Austria
• Certification by bio.inspecta and Institute for Marketecology (IMO). Bio Suisse holds contracts with this certification bodies to the effect that they inspect to Bio Suisse Standards and can issue approvals.
